How I Work

Deepening the Artist Story & Practice
I’ve been drawing since I was a kid—first cartoons, then people who didn’t know I was sketching them. My path has wound through airbrushing, special effects makeup, indie films, and on projects like The Conjuring and Annabelle. Along the way I’ve also worked in construction and renovated my own homes, learning how to shape spaces with my hands. After leaving that life behind and rebuilding from trauma, I found my way back to myself through creating resource pieces—animal spirits shaped from raw materials, offering the same comfort and meaning I once needed, now for those who feel called to them.
"I believe every hand holds the power to create. My mission is to inspire those feeling disconnected to rediscover their voice." — The Great Black Wasp

Under the Wasp’s Wing
Where Shadows Learn to Soften
In this studio, The Great Black Wasp hovers as a quiet guardian. It asks me to sit with what I’d rather avoid—the small, buzzing fears that live just beneath the surface—and to meet them with brush, ink, and breath. Each piece begins as a tremor of doubt and becomes a shield, a soft armor woven from patience, repetition, and the courage to stay with what stings until it turns into something beautiful.
